Unspoken
Some things were better left unsaid.
So she wrote yet another poem.
It started with “my greatest joy is my greatest pain.”
He wouldn’t see it anyway.
She poured her heart into every word.
Every verse stung.
“Take me to Malta to see jellyfish fireworks,”
She planned to say,
That will be the day…
(Written for Short Story Slam Week 20, Poetry Pantry #87, and Thursday Poets Rally Week 62)
The ‘jellyfish fireworks’ really made this poem for me. Great work!

So vivid and I could see her at her desk writing this, but knowing she would never really share it. “Take me to Malta to see jellyfish fireworks,” Made me want to cry.
Wonderful job with the 55 words. I never realized how hard it was to write a story in 55 words, instead of the long, short stories I write. You are really good! Be blessed.

Thank you very much Elizena for your gracious comments. It’s always nice to write and be read and appreciated by fellow writers. I’m so thankful for supportive writing communities. 🙂 Oh yes, it was definitely a challenge writing down the 55 words.

Different strokes for different folks. Some people find it easier to write, some find it easier to just speak.
